It started with my parents, of course, they were married in the Dutch East Indies, my father was stationed there as a soldier and met my mother there during a visit by a family friend, he saw her upon arrival, but when he saw her again he recognized her. he stopped seeing her and introduced himself again.

In short, her mother wanted her to marry before she left for Holland with him, they had to make a long way through the Dutch East Indies before they could return by boat.

They married on February 2, 1950 and I was born in December 1950

By then they had already moved in with his mother, I was born in the Bergweg hospital in Rotterdam. Lived with them in an attic room on the Blommerdijkselaan diagonally opposite the Bergwegziekenhuis, until my mother was pregnant again with my sister.

Then she became ill, very ill and had to go to the sanatorium for recovery. She was admitted to a sanatorium close to the Dutch-German border in Zevenaar in Emma-oord.

We were housed (separately), I with the brothers in a place unknown to me and my sister with a home for unmarried mothers (even though my mother is simply married). My father visited us when he went to my mother’s on the weekend. He had to take a long train ride and stayed there until he had to return on Sunday to arrive in Rotterdam in time so he could go back to work on Monday.

We moved to Allard Piersonstraat 10c in Rotterdam-West, where we continued to live until 1962 when we moved to Emelissedijk 14 in Rotterdam-Zuid, where we lived until 1967. We then went to live in Westmaas, a village in the Hoeksche Waard, a island under Rotterdam. I first found work at the V&D in Rotterdam and later at the Amro bank, where I worked until November 2005, after which I was stationed at IBM but still had my job at the bank. I lived with my parents until I went to live alone in West Brabant, Bergen op Zoom in 1981. I stayed there until I bought a house in Spijkenisse where I later went to live with my now ex-wife, I now still live in Spijkenisse with me. current partner.
